Apologies for the delay in getting around to posting the second part to my holiday post....life has been a little crazy since we got back, so much so that the holiday feels like it was a distant memory even though we have only been back a month today.
We spent one week in Japan followed by two weeks in Thailand. I wrote Japan up separately as I couldn't fit it all into one post (here is the Japan post if you missed it).
Japan was really full on so Thailand was all about relaxing. We were actually in Thailand for a very special reason - it was my mother in-law and father in-law's 60th birthdays so the entire family went over to celebrate - as well my little family, my parents in-law and two brothers in-law and their partners were travelling with us. We spent 5 nights at Poppies in Chewang, Koh Samui, 3 nights at Hansar in Bophut, Koh Samui then 3 nights in Bangkok. Bangkok and Koh Samui was where we went for our honeymoon 5 1/2 years ago so it holds very special memories for hubby and I. Whilst it was a very different holiday from our honeymoon (where we just lay on the beach all day, drank cocktails with every meal, got up to you know what, and came home super tanned and somewhat chubby), we had an amazing time. This time around our holiday revolved more around the kids. There was no lying on the beach for 5 hours straight but, instead, I have such special memories of watching The Crazy Kid spend hours upon hours in the ocean, learning to surf with his uncles or swimming with his grandparents. The Thai people were so beautiful with the kids as well which was gorgeous to watch.
I did manage a few pamper sessions whilst I was away. I had wanted to get a massage on the beach whilst we were in Koh Samui, but we were having too much fun swimming there was no time for massaging! Us girls all went for a pamper session where we had 3 hours of bliss - think steam room, exfoliating scrub, massage (I will write that up in a full post); I then got the Dr Fish treatment done, which I have written up here; then, finally I had a body wrap done in Bophut (which I also hope to write up).
Once again, pictures tell 1000 words so I'll just show off the pictorial highlights of our trip. If you scroll to the end you will see the giveaway that I have on offer!
